Join Micromeritics in Portland, Oregan, USA between June 12 – 15 2022 at AMPM on booth #221.
The exhibition and conference focus on metal additive manufacturing, and will feature worldwide industry experts presenting the latest technology developments in this fast-growing field.
In addition to discussing your material characterization challenges with Micromeritics experts, you can also hear from Nicholas Monroe (Applications Scientist) on June 14 at 15:40 in Session AM-6-2: Powder Properties & Rheology; for “Evaluating Spreadability of Feedstocks for Powder Bed Fusion Using Novel Techniques and Powder Rheology”.
This presentation will consider the demands of a typical spreading/recoating operation in a PBF process and the challenges associated with assessing powders for suitability. Proposed within this study is a method for quantifying spreading performance, with data presented for several typical feedstock powders. The bulk properties of these powders were also evaluated using an FT4 Powder Rheometer® (Freeman Technology Ltd, UK) to investigate the relationship between flow behavior and spreading performance.
