The Flagship Energy Systems Center has enlisted a new major corporation, offering an ethanol-based green technology for significantly improving both the performance and emissions of heavy-duty diesel engines. O2Diesel has developed a new clean-burning diesel fuel alternative that provides exceptional performance and environmental qualities for centrally fueled fleets and off-road equipment of all kinds.
Engineered and designed for universal application, O2Diesel is an ethanol- diesel blend that substantially reduces harmful emissions without sacrificing power or performance.
O2Diesel CEO Alan Rae stated, "We are confident that the synergies, technological expertise and university alliances here in Anderson will provide our company with enhanced resources to advance our products and pursue new markets."
Based in Newark, Delaware, the company was formed in 1997, originally as the AAE group of companies. AAE began the development of a proprietary additive product designed to enable ethanol to be blended with diesel fuel to produce a clean burning and efficient diesel fuel.
Chairman of the Flagship Energy Systems Center, Thomas J. Snyder, noted, "O2Diesel Corporation is a welcomed member of our rapidly developing energy center of expertise. These new initiatives will provide our community with a new technology base for future jobs and economic development."
Organized under the Flagship Enterprise Center charter, The Flagship Energy Systems Center functions in concert with the Purdue Energy Center at Discovery Park to promote the development and commercialization of new energy technologies associated with generation, conversion and storage of energy for both transportation and distributed generation markets.
Appointed to his new role as chairman earlier this year, Snyder leads the state's first energy-focused development center of excellence charged with the mission to establish Central Indiana as the "Bio-Crossroads of Energy."
Created through a partnership between Anderson University and the city of Anderson, the Flagship Enterprise Center serves as a small business incubator and early business accelerator. The FEC (located at the entrance of the Flagship Business Park at I-69 and Martin Luther King Blvd. in Anderson) provides access to university researchers and scientists, ongoing contact with management consultants, student-mentoring opportunities and access to capital for research and development support, and access to state-of-the-art telecommunications.
The Center recently launched the Flagship Energy Systems Center to promote the development of companies in the area of alternative energy, including hybrid vehicles and lithium batteries.
