Reliance Steel to Acquire Crest Steel Corp

Reliance Steel & Aluminum Co. announced today that it has reached an agreement to acquire Crest Steel Corporation, a metals service center company headquartered in Carson, CA with facilities in Riverside, CA and Phoenix, AZ. The transaction is expected to be finalized in early 2007, subject to the completion of due diligence and regulatory approvals. Crest was founded in 1963 and specializes in the processing and distribution of carbon steel products including flat-rolled, plate, bars and structurals. Crest’s net sales for the 2005 fiscal year were approximately $129 million. Terms have not been disclosed.
