Online Powder Metallurgy Database Has Been Enhanced

The groundbreaking online database GPMD was launched in 2004 as joint project between the world's three leading regional trade associations, the EPMA and its sister organisations in North America (MPIF) and Japan (JPMA). Since that time the database has been refined and the amount of ferrous structural materials has been increased to a total of nearly 2500 lines of high quality data.

In the latest development launched this week an additional section containing non-ferrous structural data has now been added, thus enabling access to the 5-10% of the PM market that relies on these materials.

The database has its own web site at www.pmdatabase.com and provides verified physical, mechanical and fatigue data for a range of commercially available PM materials. The data is displayed in a user-friendly format with the useful ability to allow downloads of certain information to commonly used FEA packages.

A further extension of the database to cover MIM materials is currently under development and will be announced later in the year. Users can register free of charge in order to access the database. To access this web site and see the new capabilities of the database visit -www.pmdatabase.com
