CERAM has launched a new initiative to assist legal professionals involved with cases reliant on materials analysis and interpretation.
The internationally renowned research and testing centre is offering free knowledge session seminars to legal practitioners keen to learn more about the difference that materials analysis can make to a case, the latest developments in testing techniques, and the role that an expert witness can play in delivering key findings.
Professor Geoff Edgell from CERAM believes that the sessions will be welcomed by many in the profession. He comments: “The initiative has really been stimulated by the growing number of enquiries that we were receiving from practices asking about materials analysis.
“Most had heard of certain testing techniques but were unsure whether they could be practically applied to their cases. This is precisely what our knowledge sessions are designed to answer.”
Each hour long session, delivered by one of CERAM’s Expert Witnesses, will include: an introduction to materials analysis, a description of the main techniques used and applications possible, together with discussion of tangible legal case studies, ranging from product failures and patent disputes to negligence claims.
