Alcan Acquire Uniwood/Fome-Cor

Alcan have continued their push into the composites arena acquiring the Uniwood/Fome-Cor division of Nevemar for US$95 million. The transaction is due to be completed in early October.

Uniwood is the USA’s largest manufacturer of foam-based display boards for the graphic arts and display market.

Uniwood are headquartered in North Carolina USA, with production capabilities in North Carolina and Kentucky.

The Uniwood acquisition follows on from Alcan’s recent acquisition of Baltek Corp, who are also involved in composites manufacture.
