Unique Challenges Require Unique Solutions

The Paks Nuclear Power Plant needed seal equipment for the second spent nuclear fuel assembly at its medium-term storage site. The required solutions were distinct, and each spent fuel assembly had to be stored individually in a steel tube equipped with both primary and secondary lids.

A Partnership Providing Confidence for This Critical Application

Since the 1990s, Technetics has maintained a close working relationship with PURAM, the end-user. The solution required for this project is unique and involves 5,700 pieces comprising copper gaskets and HELICOFLEX® high-performance seals. The partnership between the two entities is ongoing, with delivery scheduled until November 2023.

Technetics' solutions are designed to seal the primary and secondary lids with the same and revised seal design. A copper gasket is used for the inner lid, while for the outer lid, the most reliable seal is achieved through the use of the HELICOFLEX® HN 290.
