Epoxy Adhesive EP21TDC-2 Resists Vibration and Thermal Shock

Master Bond EP21TDC-2 is a two component epoxy adhesive formulated to cure fully at ambient temperatures with very little exotherm. It has outstanding chemical resistance and thermal cycling properties while still maintaining functionality at cryogenic temperatures. EP21TDC-2 is highly resistant to thermal shock and vibration.

Overcoming Vibration and Thermal Shock

Exposure to vibration and thermal shock are among some of the most challenging application requirements to overcome. Severe vibration and thermal shock can be greatly lessened with the use of a flexibilized and toughened adhesive compound. The development of liquid elastomers has aided in the creation of high-strength, toughened epoxies with substantially extended service ranges. On the other hand, added flexibility permits bonded parts to absorb stresses created by rapid temperature changes, vibration and impact. Bringing together the best of both worlds, flexibilized and toughened adhesives can significantly increase the durability and lifetime of your application, even while exposed to severe vibration and thermal shock over long periods of time.

Choosing the right polymer compound for your application is imperative. Master Bond’s flexibilized and toughened adhesive systems offer outstanding protection against vibration and thermal shock. They also feature high tensile shear and peel strength, excellent chemical resistance and high bond strength to substrates with widely different coefficients of thermal expansion and contraction.
