Introduction
Aluminium / aluminum is a very useful material and over the years its range of application has widened immensely. It is a very malleable and ductile such that it is possible to roll it into sheets as thin as 0.0017 in. It can also be drawn into wire 0.004 in. in diameter.
In the aluminium / aluminum 2xxx series, copper is the chief alloying element. These alloys have very high mechanical strength after heat treatment. Aluminium / aluminum 2218 alloy is a heat treatable wrought alloy.
The following datasheet will provide more details about aluminium / aluminum 2218 alloy.
