The Thermo Scientific™ HAAKE™ PolyLab™ OS is an advanced measuring mixer and extruder system that is focused on the specific requirements in research and development. The HAAKE™ PolyLab™ OS offers customers with process-relevant material data including melting behavior, influence of additives, shear stability, temperature stability, and melt viscosity.
Description
This measuring mixer and extruder system supports customers in process modeling operations such as compounding polymers with additives to decrease viscosity, flammability, etc., scale-up extrusion processes by using various L/D ratios to extrapolate to a master process line, mimicking master processes using only as little as 50 g of material to enhance extrusion or mixing in respect to temperature and shear profile or extrusion of profiles, strands, or films in combination with optical or rheological measurements.
Consequently, users can enhance their process parameters, develop test specimens, or perform quality control on incoming and outgoing goods relating to dispersion, viscosity, or plasticizing behavior. The drive unit of the HAAKE™ PolyLab™ OS system includes all elements of a torque rheometer that are required to drive the measuring system (precise speed controller) and to observe the torque (accurate torque sensor) required to process the test material.
