Lithium-ion battery materials must be analyzed under dry or even inert conditions to protect the sensitive materials involved. The Thermo Scientific Energy 11 PROTECT is a complete glovebox solution to this problem, integrating twin-screw extrusion capabilities and a carefully controlled argon atmosphere in a user-friendly setup for ease of use.
Product Overview
The Energy 11 PROTECT integrated glovebox solution, with its extensive accessory set, enables users to develop and manufacture cathode and anode slurries, and also electrolytes for solid-state batteries. Because of its high dispersive and distributive mixing capabilities, it is also possible to process dry electrodes in an argon atmosphere.
All extruder product contact parts can be entirely and rapidly disassembled for easy and thorough cleaning and to avoid cross contamination. This feature also allows for quick changes to experiment conditions.
Whatever the material needs are, a variety of feeding options for solid and liquid materials, all governed by the extruder's control panel, ensure that all ingredients are accurately introduced into the process. The mixing done by the Energy 11 extruder is a continuous process by design, so it eradicates batch to batch variations and always delivers a thoroughly homogeneous final product.
Applications
- All solid-state battery material mixing
- Lithium-ion electrode slurry mixing
- Solvent reduced mixing and dry cathode processing
- Pure lithium anode handling
