The 8600 Series VSM
The 8600 Series VSM provides users with a high sensitivity (15 nemu), rapid measurement speed (10 ms/pt) and simple operation allows for measurements to be produced in a highly rapid and accurate way. By raising the bar for magnetometer performance and convenience, the entire 8600 Series of VSMs have been specifically designed to simplify the amount of user intervention required during its use. For example, the motorized head of this system provides the sample to a comfortable height for easy and one-handed exchange of the QuickLIGN™ sample rods.
Convenient Operation
The 8600 Series VSM comes with a wide variety of temperature options, of which include a cryostat, high-temperature oven, as well as a single stage variable temperature insert which results in a combined temperature range 4.2 K to 1273 K. All three GlideLOCK™ options can be automatically detected and quickly slide into place.
In fact, the cutting-edge technology of this system provides users with a simple software that automatically displays controls for the specific option. Magnet poles can be easily adjusted through the use of the ExactGAP™ indexed positioning system that allows the pole gap to be set at one of six repeatable positions, thereby eliminating the need for any recalibrations to be performed following each change.
Designed for FORC
Originally created with first order reversal curve (FORC) measurement as this system’s primary objective, the high sensitivity of the 8600 Series VSM provides increased capabilities when FORC analysis is performed. Furthermore, the FORC analysis is also improved as a result of the 8600 Series’ increased data point density and reduced time requirements for data collection procedures.
Flexible and Adaptable
The software that is used to control the 8600 Series VSM significantly simplifies the user’s role during operation of this system by providing standard predefined measurement routines, a configurable field and measurement loops.
In addition to the high flexibility of this system, this software also features an integrated scripting tool that allows the user to extend existing routines with an open-ended software scripting language that can be used to perform customized measurement protocols and interface with third-party lab equipment.
