For rapid reconfiguration for various measurement applications, Lake Shore Cryotronics’ EM-V Series electromagnets provide variable magnetic fields with a range of indexed air gap and pole cap combinations.
The electromagnets, which come in 4-inch and 7-inch sizes, are perfect for integrating into magnetic test platforms that users design for a spectrum of uses, such as magnetic hysteresis studies, Hall effect studies, in-line annealing, magneto-optical studies, spin magnetic resonance demonstrations, susceptibility measurements, and biological studies.
A flexible laboratory electromagnet that can generate magnetic fields up to 3.26 T and support rapid ramp rates of up to 1 T/second is developed by combining the EM-V Series magnet with a Lake Shore magnet power supply (MPS) and teslameter.
To prevent discontinuities at zero crossover when utilizing unipolar power sources, this system, with true bipolar MPS power output, offers rapid uniform magnetic field ramping and field reversal.
Without re-calibrating the magnet after altering the gap, the ExactGAP™ pole gap indexing makes it quick and easy to reconfigure the magnet gap for the appropriate sample or option size. Users can pick between six reproducible gap widths by removing the top plate’s bolts and clicking the selector into position.
The electromagnets have precision yokes constructed of magnetically soft, ultra-pure steel and water-cooled coils, ensuring outstanding field homogeneity and stability while ensuring perfect pole cap alignment.
