Magnetic stirrers available from Heidolph North America are among the day-to-day laboratory helpers. Be it in research laboratories in leading sectors or at universities, extraction, titration, or synthesis is performed everywhere, with the goal of achieving maximum accuracy. Many users rely on Heidolph’s durable and reliable quality, made in Germany.
Either with or without the heating function, all magnetic stirrers from Heidolph share one thing in common—a robust and smooth stirring that helps mix low viscosity media up to 20 L.
Specifically, the magnetic stirrer versions equipped with a heating function include an exclusive Kera Disk® plate that integrates the benefits of ceramic and aluminum and also a sealed and fire-proof die-cast aluminum housing.
Besides this, each model comes with its specific functionalities to fulfill individual requirements—from the analog magnetic stirrer (Hei-Standard) to the advanced version integrated with numerous interfaces (Hei-Connect) and a timer function, users can rapidly find their Heidolph magnetic stirrer.
Users will also find an array of essential accessories as a system solution for accurate temperature control (temperature sensor Pt1000), for pure stirring tasks (stirring bars), for parallel reactions (StarFish), for replacing oil baths (Heat On), or for redefining reflux reactions (Findenser™). Users can now get everything from a single source for their efficient work.
Also, the MR Hei-Standard, MR Hei-Tec, and the MR Hei-Connect are all NRTL certified.

Magnetic Stirrers—Product Advantages
Leading Safety Standards
- All models are fitted with a visual residual heat indicator to avoid burns.
- To categorically prevent fire and accidents, all models include two separate safety circuits that automatically turn off the hotplate in the event of an undesired rise in temperature.
- Device damage is prevented even at maximum temperatures—all models are fitted with a fire-resistant die-cast housing.
- Inadvertent heating is prevented by a separate On/Off button meant for the heating function. The activated heating function can be clearly recognized by the illumination of the button.
- To ensure safety, the device is completely turned off in the event of a short circuit, a faulty processor, a defective motor and a broken temperature sensor.
- The application is made even safer by a combination with Heat-On attachments.
- Even with the fastest heating times compared to traditional magnetic stirrers, the integrated PID controller ensures accurate control without exceeding the temperature.
- To avoid splashing, the rotation speed increases gradually until it reaches the required value.
Superior Ease of Use
- The stirring process is not interrupted even if the hotplate fails. This prevents overheating of the sample.
- The exclusive Kera-Disk® coating is highly resistant to scratches and chemicals. Hence, the hotplate can be easily cleaned and dirt can be effortlessly removed. The heating process is accurately controlled by a PID controller.
- The robust stirring magnet safely entrains the stirring rod even with more quantities of up to 20 L.
- On devices equipped with a display, all parameters can be read from the massive, illuminated display, even from a longer distance.
- Using the free software support available for the Hei-Connect model, processes can be consistently automated and documented—for up to four devices at the same time.
- Efficient cold insulation avoids condensation in the housing and thus prevents contact between electronic components and condensation water—perfect for working with dry ice.
Reduced Cost of Ownership
- Corrosion-protected electronics considerably extend the operational lifespan and decrease costs for new purchases.
- On average, the normal operational lifetime is over 10 years, which makes users’ purchase a worthwhile investment.
- Offers evidently shorter process times. The high heating power of 800 W allows 35% faster heating times when compared to traditional magnetic stirrers with 600 W.
- With its aluminum core, the Kera-Disk® hotplate ensures fastest heating times. Because of the impervious ceramic coating, the plate is scratch-proof and resistant to chemicals.
- The sealed housing of the magnetic stirrers ensures an extended service life with low susceptibility to repairs.
- Wear-free and maintenance-free motors save costs on repair and spare parts.
