MCT oil (that is, winterized coconut oil, medium-chain triglycerides) is generally added to plant extracts for improved dosage and absorption.
It can be difficult to infuse the MCT oil with the extract. Plant extracts are usually viscous to solid, whereas MCT oil has the viscosity of vegetable oil. To get a consistent final product, the mixture is gently heated with the help of a heating plate and stirred with a laboratory stirrer.
OutCo manufactures products created from plant extracts from San Diego and utilizes a laboratory stirrer, called Hei-TORQUE Precision 200, along with a Hei-Tec magnetic stirrer and a temperature sensor Pt1000 for this step. The mixture is stirred at 800 rpm at 60°C for 8 minutes.
