The VFG Shotcrete Penetrometer, a specialized force testing kit, is tailored for evaluating sprayed or poured concrete in its initial hours of setting, in accordance with international industry standards. This instrument is compliant with the fundamental requirements of BS EN 14488-2 (Method A).
The VFG Shotcrete Penetrometer comes with a touchscreen display that displays readings in N. This tool enables batch testing, with each result automatically converted into megapascals (MPa) based on the aggregate size being tested, following the guidelines of EN 144882. The converted MPa readings are then displayed in a table format on the VFG Shotcrete Penetrometer for immediate assessment.
To ensure maximum strength, verification of consistency is crucial in the initial stages of the concrete curing process. This phase is defined as when the strength is assessed as being between 0.2 MPa to 1.2 MPa.
The VFG Shotcrete Penetrometer has an accuracy of ± 1N, exceeding the recommendation of the test standard, and can be used in combination with other tests as the mixture continues to harden over time.
