Teledyne’s expertise in short-wave infrared (SWIR) technology is leveraged in the Forge®️ 1GigE camera series. The new camera series incorporates the most recent Sony® Sen-SWIR InGaAs sensors in a compact package.
The camera provides excellent image performance and reliability for various machine vision applications. Its wide spectral range (400 nm to 1700 nm) provides the best combination of performance, size, and GigE reliability for industrial imaging.
Extended Spectral Range
Capture images ranging from visible light to SWIR (400 to 1700 nm) to improve detection and analysis in various materials and applications.
Compact and Balanced Design
The small housing strikes a balance between size and image quality. It is perfect for settings with limited space without sacrificing image quality.
GigE Performance and Reliability
GigE driver performance using a robust Trigger-to-Image Reliability framework, the Spinnaker® SDK, and SaperaTM Processing.
What is SWIR?
SWIR imaging works outside the visible light spectrum, using wavelengths between 900 and 1700 nm. In contrast to visible light, SWIR has varying degrees of penetration through materials like silicon, plastics, and textiles to uncover details that would otherwise be obscured. SWIR technology is perfect for many industrial applications where accurate material detection and quality inspection are essential.
Benefits of SWIR
Enhanced Material Detection:
Recognize and distinguish materials based on their distinct spectral signatures and accurately determine their moisture content, chemical makeup, and thermal characteristics
Improved Visibility in Challenging Conditions:
The new camera delivers superior image clarity and contrast in low light, fog, and opaque materials, making it suitable for hot, steamy environments and hazy outdoor conditions. The Forge 1GigE SWIR camera enables non-destructive testing, allowing for the inspection of internal structures without causing damage to the object. This is essential for industrial quality control, food sorting, and medical diagnostics.
Non-Destructive Testing and Quality Control:
The Forge 1GigE SWIR camera allows nondestructive testing, which permits internal structure inspection without harming the object, which is essential for food sorting and industrial quality monitoring.
Flexible Application with Narrowband Filters:
Use narrowband filters for precise wavelength imaging to improve material detection and condition monitoring. This is critical for various applications, including agriculture, food production, recycling, scientific research, and industrial inspection.
