New Cumene Plant in Shanghai, China, to Use Badger Licensing’s Proprietary Technology

Badger Licensing LLC (Badger) announced that CEPSA Chemical Shanghai Co., Ltd., an affiliate of CEPSA Quimica, S.A., selected Badger to provide proprietary technology for its 360,000 metric ton per annum grassroots cumene plant in Shanghai, People’s Republic of China. The award includes technology license, process design and start-up services.

Alpek and BASF Enter Agreement for Polioles EPS and PU Business

Alpek, S.A.B. de C.V. (“Alpek”) and BASF announced today that they have signed agreements concerning the EPS (expandable polystyrene) and PU (polyurethane) business activities of their Polioles joint venture in Mexico, and BASF’s EPS business in North and South America, excluding BASF’s Neopor® (grey EPS) business.

BASF’s Share in Styrolution to be Acquired by INEOS

INEOS will acquire BASF’s 50% share in Styrolution, a joint venture between the companies. The purchase price to be paid by INEOS amounts to €1.1 billion. A call option in favor of INEOS to buy BASF’s share in Styrolution was already included in the shareholders’ agreement signed in 2011.
