Techtran Group, the University of Leeds’ commercialisation partner have announced the launch of spin off company Structure Vision Ltd.
Structure Vision Ltd are a technical software and consultancy business. They have developed a software package called DigiPac that accurately models and simulates the behaviour of particulate materials such as powders, tablets and other granular materials within packed structures.
DigiPac was designed for use by industries dealing with processes involving particulates. It helps them to understand how their materials behave. It will also produce accurate 3D models of the particulate structure and can simulate the environmental and physical conditions at a microscopic level. It will also give clients an improved understanding of how the particle size, shape and distribution can affect their process.
The software can deal with processing parameter changes and has the ability to cater for applications involving large quantities of coarse particles, through to those dealing with tiny quantities of extremely fine powders such as in pharmaceuticals.
Initial target markets are the pharmaceuticals and chemical industries, although their product has application in many other areas.
