World Leader in Conveyor Belt Manufacturing Planning Assault on Australian Market

Fenner, world leader in reinforced polymer belt manufacturing based in East Yorkshire, UK are planning a big move into the Australian market. They are planning to spend AUD$70 million on the construction of a new greenfield manufacturing facility to produce steel cord reinforced conveyor belts in Kwinana, near Perth.

Construction on the new plant is due to commence in April, with production slated to begin in the second quarter of 2009.

The announcement of the new Australian manufacturing facility follows hot on the heels of Fenner's purchase of Northern Belting Specialists for about AUD$5 million. Northern Belting Specialists are an Australian supplier to the conveyor belt market based in South Australia.
