Solicore, global leader of embedded power solutions, is setting the pace for the thin-film battery industry by making significant enhancements to the high-speed production line for their ultra-thin flexible Flexion® batteries. Their proprietary high-speed manufacturing process involves comparatively fewer steps than the processes used by other companies, enabling Solicore to produce larger quantities of a higher quality battery. The revamped process is on-line now and Solicore is currently delivering increased volumes of product.
The high-speed production line is more than four times faster than Solicore’s original production equipment, and is capable of producing up to 1.25 million units per month—the equivalent of approximately one battery every two seconds. The production line is fully automated, with in-line measurements and greater process controls that help to ensure maximum product quality.
