The 2009 Euro PM Congress & Exhibition will not only attract an audience of industry recognised decision makers, leading PM academics, researchers and business personnel, this year's event will take on another meaning as it helps to celebrate 20 years of the European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA). The EPMA, founded in 1989, has, over the last 20 years, represented Europe's Powder Metallurgy industry and associated supply chain, from powder suppliers, to equipment manufacturers, to component producers.
The pinnacle of the European PM calendar will take place in Copenhagen, Denmark at the Bella Centre, 12-14 October 2009. The Bella Centre is only a short distance from the wonderful city of Copenhagen, a lively metropolitan backdrop, compared to the serious business of powder metallurgy.
The Euro PM2009's opening presentations will be "Key Areas for Development in PM Technology" by Dr Olle Grinder, PM Technology AB/Associate Professor, Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm and "European Powertrain Evolution" by Andrew Fullbrook, European Powertrain Forecasts, CSM Auto.
The Euro PM2009 Technical Programme is a PM programme not to be missed, boasting over 200 oral papers, which represent all the major contributing PM areas, conventional ferrous structural PM, Metal Injection Moulding, Hard Materials and Diamond tooling as well as some more specialised interests, such as nano/bio materials.
EPMA Executive Director Jonathan Wroe said "We have put together a strong programme of technical sessions with an additional number of special workshops and meetings on key topics of relevance to the PM industry."
There will be a comprehensive programme of Powder Injection Moulding Sessions, plus a half-day Seminar on "MIM Equipment and Reduction of Operating Costs". The Hard Materials and Diamond Tooling sectors will have a special programme that will include some invited keynote papers. Additional to this will be a special interest seminar on "PM Biomaterials - Processing and Performance" available to all delegates.
The technical presentations will run in parallel to the Euro PM Exhibition. The Euro PM2009 Exhibition will feature an international list of supply companies from throughout the PM supply chain, from powder suppliers, to equipment manufacturers, to research organisations to name but a few.
"Although the industry is facing a tough time, the Euro PM Exhibition will be the ideal setting to discuss new and potential business opportunities" said Andrew Almond Euro PM Marketing Manager. He added "The strong technical programme and special interest workshops combined with the PM conference in Europe should make for an attractive package to attending delegates. The 2009 event is made even more special by the fact that the EPMA is celebrating its 20th Anniversary. We are looking forward to a successful event in a wonderful and well connected location."
