Kennametal Inc. (NYSE: KMT) announced today that two of its inventors were honored with the Advanced Manufacturing Award at the 13th Annual Carnegie Science Center Awards. This is the eighth time that Kennametal has been recognized for excellence in the areas of advanced manufacturing, materials and corporate innovation.
Inventors, Karen Craig and Dr. Dirk Kammermeier, were honored for their development of a hybrid tool that performs both milling and grinding operations. Innovation is the cornerstone of Kennametal's success and this honor exemplifies the great talent the company has committed to innovation and customer excellence.

In addition to this year's recognition, Kennametal received the Scientist Award in 1997, Honorable Mentions in Advanced Manufacturing and Materials in 2003 and 2004, the Advanced Manufacturing and Materials Award in 2004 and 2007, Honorable Mention in Corporate Innovation in 2006 and the Corporate Innovation Award in 2007.
The Carnegie Science Center Awards recognize outstanding science and technology achievements. Over the years, they have honored the accomplishments of more than 200 individuals and organizations that have improved lives through their commitment, contributions and leadership.
