RPC Containers Suitable for Chicken Poo

The versatility of RPC Containers Oakham's pail solutions has been confirmed after compost manufacturer Vital Earth asked RPC to pack its innovative new fertiliser, Chicken Poo.

Vital Earth specialises in peat-free composts made from recycled garden waste, with its well-known green credentials underlined by a range of products that are 100% natural, 100% sustainable and 100% UK-sourced. Chicken Poo is no different. Sourced from free range British hens, Chicken Poo uses a recycled version of the chicken manure that experienced gardeners 'swear by' for prize-winning home grown veg.

The product has been rigorously researched both as a fertiliser with wholly natural ingredients and in terms of its fun presentation. Vital Earth required a packaging concept that would match the brand's quirky and colourful name, in order to make Chicken Poo irresistible to both established gardeners and younger enthusiasts taking up 'grow your own' for the first time - especially the idea of the 'happy hens'!

RPC Oakham's reputation in the garden care market - and its expertise in high-quality printing techniques - attracted Vital Earth's attention. The 10 litre pail offers a robust large format that can comfortably hold and protect 7 kg of Chicken Poo. For the decoration, a technically demanding solution of dry-offset printing in six colours has been used to ensure excellent reproduction of the brightly coloured, cartoon graphics.

"We were eager to capture the unique and exciting nature of Chicken Poo with a vibrant, engaging packaging solution, and RPC has shown enormous skill and co-operation in meeting our ambitious plans for the brand," comments Maryanne Stokes, Sales and Marketing Manager at Vital Earth.
