VITRONIC will exhibit the welding seam inspection system VIROwsi at this year's AUTOMATICA that takes place in Munich June 8-11, 2010. The new generation of the system with a completely reengineered sensor and new applications will be presented for the first time. A slim, compact design in combination with the latest technology guarantees the highest performance for inline inspections.
The seam inspection system VIROwsi has already been successfully used in various sectors for many years. The system objectively inspects the seam and sorts out defective parts. VIROwsi determines the size and position of all relevant defects such as pores, holes, undercuts and seam geometry in real time. All results are directly incorporated into a protocol and stored for subsequent tracking. The seam quality therefore is flawlessly and completely documented. The acquired data forms the basis for the process optimization, as well as for the manual and automatic reworking of the seam. Consequently, VIROwsi actively contributes to the process optimization.
The utilization of the new sensor opens up new applications. The compact sensor design ensures ultimate accessibility to the component and to the seam to be inspected - even into the smallest corner. Due to combined 2D/3D image recording, even extremely flat seams can be reliably inspected. Highly reflective materials such as aluminum also are inspected with respect to flawless welding seams with the new sensor.
