Integrated Bagging Systems Acquires Uniflex’s Medical Packaging Division

Inteplast Group's Integrated Bagging Systems (IBS) Unit is pleased to announce that it has recently acquired the medical packaging division from Uniflex Holdings, part of S. Walter Packaging Corp.  The packaging division includes specimen transport bags, stat bags and other medical packaging, and is a valued addition to the Inteplast product portfolio. The acquisition brings the Speci-Gard brand name, sales and customer base into the Inteplast fold.

The new packaging division is a beneficial addition to IBS's already-strong health care plastics and packaging initiatives. With the addition of these products, IBS can now focus on all levels of the health care market, group purchase organizations (GPOs) as well as distribution channels.

For Inteplast Group, this move allows the company to better serve new customers in the distribution arena, and strengthens existing offerings and product presence for current customers. This new division provides a value-added product line for the IBS portfolio; customers will benefit from more product bundles than before.  In addition, Inteplast will leverage its supply-chain sourcing expertise, offering a product line with the benefits of Inteplast's proven quality and excellence.

"The addition of the Speci-Gard unit is a strategic move for our company, and provides us with new opportunities," said Paul Ulrich of Inteplast Group. "This fills a void we had in our product line, and gives us the ability to better serve our customers, both existing and new."
