Alma Monta Acquires Masking and Packaging Tape Company, Evotape

With effect from the 21st of June 2010, the International group Alma Monta has acquired the Evotape group from the Luxembourg-based investment fund bluO. Both parties have confirmed the closing in a joint press conference.

Evotape is a leading producer of masking and packaging tapes, generating an annual turnover of 60MEUR with over 300 employees at its production sites in San Pietro Mosezzo and SS. Cosma e Damiano (Italy). Major clients include Beiersdorf (Tesa) and Henkel. The managing director Hermann Huber said: “We are looking forward to partnering with the new shareholder, who will enhance the positive results achieved until now and assure the future growth of Evotape group. As a consequence I will be continuing to support the new management of the group”. Mr Pablo Keller, from Alma Monta confirmed: “Evotape represents our first acquisition in Europe and we are looking for further investment opportunities”. Additionally to the purchase price of 19MEUR, a variable component has been negotiated. The price includes all assets and production sites. There is no anti-trust filing required. Markus Zoellner, bluO manager commented: “We are pleased that the new shareholder will bring new interesting opportunities to Evotape in the short and long term”. The transaction is the first divestment for bluO, which was founded in 2008.
