Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics has expanded its Sani-Tech® line of tubing and related products with the introduction of Sani-Link® Ultra platinum-cured manifolds.
With features unique enough to warrant a U.S. patent (No. 6,290,265), Sani- Link® Ultra manifolds feature Saint-Gobain's innovative SIB® (Smooth Inner Bore) technology, which provides unsurpassed surface smoothness and minimizes the need for fittings, connections or assembly, virtually eliminating leak points and potential entrapment areas. Additionally, ultra-low TOCs ensure that contamination by extractables is kept to an absolute minimum.
Sani- Link® Ultra manifolds are offered in four styles -- elbow, cross, tee and wye -- and a wide range of sizes. A double wye is also available for use in double-headed peristaltic pump applications. This innovative option is one complete unit designed to extend pump life and ensure continuous product flow.
Process engineers can specify custom configurations that incorporate Sani-Tech® Ultra manifolds and either Sani-Tech® Ultra 50 or Sani-Tech® Ultra 65 tubing. These components can be manufactured as complete assemblies that are already gamma-irradiated for easy implementation. Assembly components can also include filters, bags, tube clamps and sterile connectors. Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics' Pure-Fit® TC tube clamps and Pure-Fit® SC sterile connectors can be incorporated upon customer request. Custom striping and identification options are also available.
Sani-Link® Ultra manifolds are manufactured from the finest grade of silicone materials. They are biologically safe, impart no taste or odors, and are fully characterized, validated and tested to a variety of specifications including USP Class VI criteria, ISO 10993 and European Pharmacopoeia 3.1.9.
Typical applications for Sani-Link® Ultra manifolds include sterile filling, peristaltic pumps, filtration and fermentation, sampling, closed collection systems and drug delivery and discovery.
