Researchers who have published outstanding work that demonstrates the use of materials testing equipment in the development of new materials are entitled to participate.
First prize is €5,000 and the award of the Paul Roell Medal, while second and third prizes are €2,000 and €1,000 respectively. The deadline for submissions is 1 November 2010. Applicants can include work carried out on any commercial or ‘home-made’ testing set-up, not just Zwick Roell materials testing systems.
In addition to being heavily involved in the development of the new materials, components and technologies which are increasingly important for industry, universities and research institutes train and inspire the next generation of scientists. As world leading manufacturers of materials testing equipment, Zwick Roell recognises the importance of the sector and is proud to acknowledge the achievements of young scientists with this new award.
