From September 2010, the Zwick Roell Group is inviting international companies to register for participation in a round robin test entitled, 'Comprehension tests on fibre composite materials'.
Likely to be one of the most comprehensive tests of its kind, participants can enter samples prepared using one or more standard methods for professional, reputable, third-party assessment and evaluation in accordance with ISO/IEC 17043 (2010-02) guidelines.
Data gathered will also be used to compare and contrast test methods and test fixtures across laboratories. For further information, inclusion in the mailing list, and cost of participation please contact: [email protected]
Included in the round robin are methods using:
- end loading (prEN 2850, Method B)
- shear loading (prEN 2850, Method A)
- combined loading, as is usually necessary for higher loads (ASTM D 6641).
This round robin was initiated by Zwick GmbH & Co. KG, while Kunststoff-Institut Lüdenscheid is responsible for organization and evaluation. Specimen production and the necessary pre-tests will be undertaken by GMA-Werkstoffprüfung GmbH, with technical supervision and support provided by TohoTenax. After the close of the registration period in November 2010, specimens will be produced and sent out, to allow tests to be completed by April 2011.
With more than 150 years of experience manufacturing testing systems, Zwick Roell has a global reputation in materials testing. The brand name Zwick is a guarantee of the highest quality and support.
