The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE: DOW) announced today the successful startup of the Solution Linear Low Density Polyethylene II train (SPE II).
SPE II is owned by Siam Polyethylene Co., Ltd, a joint venture of The Dow Chemical Company (Dow) and Siam Cement Group (SCG), which is located at the existing Map-Ta-Phut manufacturing facility in Rayong Province, Thailand. It is expected that products from SPE II will be commercially available in November 2010.
“The start up of the SPE II train further strengthens our leadership position and technology expertise in the global octene-based polyethylene market.
