Shea Concrete has been chosen as a precast concrete material supplier for the new commuter rail station construction project, the Newmarket Station.
The company supplies precast concrete products to S & R Construction based in Newton, New Hampshire, a general contractor of the project.
The station will be built along the Fairmount corridor of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA). The Newmarket Station is a part of the Fairmount Commuter Rail Rehabilitation Project and will be located next to the South Bay Shopping Center.
The project has begun last year and is anticipated to be completed in 2013. The delivery of construction materials has already been started by Shea Concrete. Other precast concrete products such as drainage structures, electrical and communication manholes and lighpole bases will be supplied by the company.
MBTA’s Newmarket Station is one of the major commercial projects for Shea Concrete and this provides future opportunities for the precast concrete manufacturer.
