KiOR, a clean tech firm that has developed a proprietary technology to produce renewable crude oil from biomass, announced that it has entered into a contract with FedEx Corporate Services, one of the leading transportation companies, for supply of renewable diesel blendstocks. Based on the agreement, KiOR will deliver diesel blendstocks to FedEx Corporate Services’ affiliates.
This is the first agreement for KiOR with a premier transportation company. The renewable fuel blendstocks meant for delivery will be produced at the company’s commercial manufacturing plant located in Columbus, Mississippi. Production is expected to start in the latter half of 2012.
Fred Cannon, President and CEO of KiOR, stated that the company is happy to work with FedEx, a pioneer in the transportation sector. The partnership will help KiOR to boost its supply of renewable diesel blendstocks to the market.
The company has earlier entered into a deal with Hunt Refining for fuel oil and renewable diesel and gasoline blendstocks.
