New solvent-free and solvent-borne tank lining solutions have been launched by PPG Industries' protective and marine coatings business.
The SIGMAGUARD CSF, PHENGUARD and NOVAGUARD coatings are used by biofuel and petrochemical storage tank owners and maintenance engineers in the U.S. These tank linings are ideal for storing all kinds of chemicals.
The SIGMAGUARD CSF 650 is an amine-cured epoxy coating that is free from solvents. This single-coat lining has potential application in tanks containing crude oil or aliphatic petroleum products at maximum temperatures of 140°F. The coating can be utilized to line both renovated tank bottoms and new tanks or to fix pitting corrosion damage.
The PHENGUARD 930/935/940 are solvent-based coatings that are suitable to line tanks storing a variety of refined products and chemicals, including fatty acids, caustic sodas, ethylene dichloride and methanol.
The NOVAGUARD 840 is also a solvent-free, novolac phenolic epoxy lining. This coating is suitable for lining tanks that store refined fuels, chemicals, solvents and crude oil at temperatures ranging up to 194°F. In addition, it can fill complex "omega" pit holes.
The NOVAGUARD 890 coating from PPG is a novolac phenolic epoxy lining and is used to store biofuels like ethanol fuel blends and gasolines with 5%-10% ethanol. It can be employed as a reinforced lining for renovated tank bottoms and also possesses outstanding pit-filling attributes as the NOVAGUARD 840 coating.
