Coskata has signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with Fagen, a green energy builder in the U.S., to build a commercial cellulosic ethanol plant in Boligee, Alabama. The facility will be designed using Coskata’s technology.
Fagen and Harris Group, a biofuel engineering company, will manage the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) process. Both companies have been selected to execute the EPC process to provide unmatched quality, cost and time. The scope of the Coskata’s project includes detailed design, commissioning and construction. Through this collaboration, Coskata will be able to reveal the value and advantages of its technology. The Alabama facility will transform sustainable wood biomass into ethanol.
Fagen’s Chairman, Ron Fagen stated that the company is happy to be a part of Coskata’s project, which includes advanced ethanol production technology and a constant drive toward locally manufactured biofuels.
Harris Group’s President, Jim Gabriel stated that the company has been working with Coskata for about three years and the group’s expertise in advanced biofuels commercialization will help it to deliver a high-quality facility to Coskata.
