KEMET, a developer of aluminum, ceramic, tantalum, paper, film and electrolytic dielectrics, has planned to build a new manufacturing plant in Skopje, Macedonia.
The new facility will initially manufacture standard DC film capacitors for automotive, alternative energy and industrial applications. The investment for this project is estimated to be approximately €12 million.
The Chief Executive Officer of KEMET, Per Loof stated that construction of the Macedonia facility represents the company’s long-term commitment to consolidate and maintain its manufacturing capabilities to better serve its customer base in Europe. It also fulfills KEMET's goal to minimize the cost structure of its Film and Electrolytic business.
The facility will include space for administrative office and manufacturing operations, and construction is anticipated to be completed in summer 2012.
