Augrid Global Holdings announced that its subsidiary, Carbon Composite Technologies (CCT), will launch a patented fabric, which combines the cost efficiency of fiberglass with the lightweight and strength of carbon nano fibers.
The new patented hybrid fiberglass/carbon nano fabric will be used in the production of fiber reinforced polymer products. A number of manufacturers in the automotive, marine, armoring, aerospace and wind energy sectors have started assessing the efficiency of the patented material in terms of cost and weight savings.
The hybrid fabric has physical characteristics that are better than carbon fiber fabrics and its cost is similar to fiberglass. Durability, corrosion resistance and strength of the material comply with the national standards. CCT's patented material can also be resistively heated to minimize energy requirements and molding production time.
CCT anticipates that the sale of the patented fabric will be around 10,000,000 lineal yards. To achieve this estimation, the company will require over 2000 pounds of multiwall carbon nanotubes and has identified essential manufacturing facilities and tools.
Augrid estimates yearly revenue to surpass $25,000,000 in equipment, material, license and sales fees across the next two years.
