EcoLogic and GEA Biodegradables have signed a multi-year distribution agreement to market the Eco-One brand of additives across Mexico. Under the terms of the agreement, GEA biodegradables will be responsible for distributing EcoLogic’s Eco-One products. Eco-One additives are compatible with resin types such as polycarbonate, PVC, ABS, nylon, PS, PET, PP and PE.
EcoLogic is a producer and distributor of Eco-One organic additives for use in global plastic products. The additive improves the biodegradation of plastics in biologically active landfills. GEA Biodegradables has been established to mainly focus on bio additives for plastic applications and the company has more expertise in plastic bag manufacturing, compounding and resin distribution.
The biodegradable plastic products have greater growth opportunity in the Mexican market because a legislation has been approved in Mexico to prohibit the use of non-biodegradable plastic bags. The parent company of GEA has more than 35 years of experience in the plastics industry. Hence, their capability and distribution network will lead to the success of Eco-One additive usage expansion in Mexico.
GEA Biodegradables’ General Manager, Gerardo Garcia noted that after a wide analysis of several products, technologies and techniques for producing sustainable plastic solutions, they have decided that Eco-One additive is the best solution for the Mexican market.
