FLEXcon has unveiled a new line of polyimide films, THERMLfilm HT that is ideal for the printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing process. The THERMLfilm HT line is available for global automotive, aerospace, electronics and other products manufacturers, who need high-density alphanumeric and barcode PCB labels.
The advanced line has a capacity to resist chemicals, abrasion and fluctuating temperatures in the PCB manufacturing process. The new series of high-temperature polyimide films has been developed to meet the industry standards and requirements for the PCB manufacturing process.
A specialty topcoat from FLEXcon offers a very smooth printing surface and it is a suitable platform for high density information like data matrix codes. The topcoat also decreases the risk of print voids, ensuring perfect print consistency and quality and in addition delivers reliable ANSI scannability. THERMLfilm HT line of 1 mil and 2 mil polyimide films are delivered to customers in Australia, Latin America, Europe and the U.S. through FLEXcon’s global distribution network. FLEXcon has planned to expand the portfolio of high-temperature films by launching additional products in the future.
Based on MIL-STD-883E, Notice 4 and MIL-STD-202G, Notice 12, FLEXcon’s new high-temperature polyimide film line can withstand the standard PCB process. VIGON A 201 chemical cleaner has been used to perform in-line durability test, which reveals that THERMLfilm HT films will resist the harsh environment offering highest and consistent performance. In addition, consistent ANSI scannability has been proved by L.a.b barcode scannability test after high heat exposure.
