The Bayou Companies, a subsidiary of Insituform Technologies, has received orders to offer corrosion coating for the Walker Ridge Gathering System and Big Foot pipeline projects. The total value of the order is about $5 million.
Insituform Technologies is a provider of protection products and services for revitalizing mining, energy, water and sewer piping systems and corrosion protection of industrial pipelines. The coating will be used for the export lines that deliver natural gas from the Walker Ridge System, an ultra-deepwater project in the Gulf of Mexico. The material is also used for the Big Foot development project that links production facilities to a subsea pipeline infrastructure.
Once the project is completed, the Walker Ridge Gathering System will comprise about 190 mi of 10 ” and 8 ” diameter pipelines, which will be positioned at depths ranging from 5,900 ft to 7,000 ft in the Gulf of Mexico. Insituform Technologies’ subsidiary will deliver fusion bonded epoxy coating solution for the Big Foot pipeline that links the existing subsea pipeline infrastructure to 100,000 b/d of production.
The Bayou Companies has planned to commence Big Foot and the Walker Ridge projects in the last quarter of 2011. The current contract represents the client’s confidence in the company’s capacity to accomplish a task at a highly technical and challenging level.
