DEStech Publications, Inc. announces the publication of Nanocomposites, Volume 1 of the new American Society for Composites' Series on Advances in Composite Materials, edited by Tsu-Wei Chou from the University of Delaware and Chin-Teh Sun from Purdue University. Virginia Tech's Michael W. Hyer serves as the Managing Editor.
This bound edition contains updated and previously unpublished research papers on using nanomaterials to improve the performance and properties of composites. The book covers all phases of nanocomposite synthesis--from design and multiscale modeling to processing and testing. Special attention is devoted to problems of dispersion and interfacial bonding and to using nanoparticles to enhance electrical properties in composites.
The volume is the second in the American Society for Composites Series on Advances in Composite Materials under the general editorship of Michael Hyer of Virginia Tech. Contributions on Nanocomposites selected for this volume and others in the series are edited and updated versions of ASC presentations made during the past nine years and until now available only via CD-ROM.
Some of the highlights of the book include:
- Technologies for reinforcing composites with nanotubes, nanofibers and graphene
- New data on dispersion, alignment and interfacial bonding
- Methods for enhancing conductivity and strength
