Applied Polymer Composites, an international peer-reviewed Journal From Smithers Rapra, will cover all aspects of Polymeric Composites. The journal has been specially created to publish significant results immediately as Rapid Communications, and important results as short papers; in addition to regular Research Papers and Review Articles.
The aim of this journal will be to provide a balance between materials science and mechanics aspects, basic and applied research, and high technology and high volume (low cost) composite development.
The launch of a new international peer-reviewed journal needs some justification in an already well covered subject area of composites science. We believe the journal will offer a unique opportunity for authors and researchers to publish their latest results in an optimum amount of time, and it aims to bridge the gap between research and development and the practical, commercial applications of polymers in a wide range of industries.
Current developments and likely future trends will be covered across key areas of the composites industry, together with existing and potential opportunities for the innovative use of composites materials.
Topics covered by the journal will include: nanocomposites, smart composites, textile composites, thermoplastic and thermoset composites and applications in all aspects of technology, commerce and industry including automobiles, aerospace, biomaterials, electronics, engineering and high technology, and other relevant areas.
About the Editor
Sanjay Palsule has been working on Aerospace and Engineering Composites for the last 25 years through his association and projects with the European Space Agency, Indian Space Research Organization, Defense Research and Development Organization and Automobile and Engineering Industries. Dr Palsule received his PhD from Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh United Kingdom, and at present he is with the Indian Institute of Technology - Roorkee, India. He is the inventor of concepts and feasibility of Anoxic Polymeric Composites and of natural fibre polyolefin composites with in-situ fibre / matrix interfacial adhesion. His main areas of interest are Nanocomposites, Continuous Fibre / Thermoset Composites, and Natural Fibre / Polymer Composites.
