Green Ballast Receives 2013 Excellence in Technology and Innovation Award

Green Ballast Inc., has been awarded the 2013 Excellence in Technology and Innovation award for its energy efficient electronic ballasts by Environmental Leader, the leading daily trade publication in environmental and sustainability news.

According to one of the judges, "This is a strong product with some interesting attributes, particularly its size and ability to function without having to be integrated into a larger controls system."

GBLL's ballast is a direct replacement for the existing "standard ballast" and adjusts power consumption for each lighting fixture, while measuring and harvesting available daylight to calculate and provide only the amount of needed electricity for proper lighting. It is a "plug and play" solution and has controls within each ballast, providing simple and efficient installation and ongoing maintenance.

Products were evaluated and ranked by a panel of independent judges from companies including: PepsiCo, Staples, the University of California Berkeley, ISS Facility Services, The Green Grid, LNS Research, Owens Corning, Yahoo! Inc., GlaxoSmithKline, Legrand, Petco, and New Belgium Brewing Company.

"We are very proud to have received this reward by such a recognizable and trusted group as Environmental Leader," said J. Kevin Adams , chief executive officer of Green Ballast.
