Brooks Instrument to Exhibit a Range of New Products at Chem Show 2013 in New York

Brooks Instrument, a world-leading provider of advanced flow, pressure, vacuum, level and vapor delivery solutions, will be exhibiting a broad range of products in Booth 609, at Chem Show 2013, Dec. 10-12, New York, NY. Key products Brooks will be exhibiting include the all-new MT3809 variable area (VA) flow meter, the enhanced SLA digital thermal mass flow meter series and the direct liquid injection vaporizer.

In conjunction with the show, Jim Dillon, Brooks global product manager for variable area products, will deliver a presentation in the Javits Center New Product Theater, entitled: One World, One Product: Bringing A Global Perspective to Metal Tube Variable Area Flow Meters. The presentation will provide an overview on VA meter functionality, and expert guidance on key technical and performance requirements to take into consideration when selecting a VA meter for a specific application or operational environments.

SLA series thermal mass flow and pressure controllers: Brooks has recently updated the SLA5800 and SLAMf model families of digital mass flow meters and controllers to make them easier and more user-friendly to integrate into a wide range of chemical and petrochemical research, laboratory, analytical, life sciences and fuel cell applications.

Brooks is a leading innovator and supplier of mass flow controllers and meters, pressure measurement and control devices, and vacuum gauges used in a wide range of chemical and process industries, including oil and gas production, petrochemical refining, biotechnology, pharmaceutical production, analytical and lab operations, and food and beverage production.
Brooks will highlight several new product models and advanced systems created to help the chemical process industry improve productivity, process control and repeatability, and control costs and yields. Three key products that will be showcased include:

MT3809 VA meter

The newest version of Brooks’ metal tube VA meter (rotameter), the MT3809 has been designed to perform effectively in extreme conditions, particularly for chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas and LP (liquefied petroleum gas) applications.

It offers:

  • Excellent accuracy across an ultra-wide range of operating temperatures -- from -198° C to 420° C -- and pressures up to 1380 bar (20,000 psi)
  • Rugged reliability with hardened stainless steel components and explosion-proof housing, meeting the most stringent hazardous-area classifications worldwide
  • Easy installation, including fast retrofitting into existing lines

SLA series thermal mass flow and pressure controllers

Brooks has recently updated the SLA5800 and SLAMf model families of digital mass flow meters and controllers to make them easier and more user-friendly to integrate into a wide range of chemical and petrochemical research, laboratory, analytical, life sciences and fuel cell applications. Key features include:

  • New user-accessible service port enabling faster installation, start-up, troubleshooting and digital access to diagnostics to help maximize process uptime
  • Newly expanded range of digital and analog I/O communications, for easier integration into existing process automation communications architectures

Direct Liquid Injection (DLI) Vaporizers

Brooks has introduced a revolutionary new technology for generating vapor from liquids, one that overcomes limitations of conventional “bubbler” and flash vaporizer systems for chemical vapour deposition and humidification processes.

The Brooks DLI vaporizer employs hot gas, rather than a hot metal surface, to accomplish liquid vaporization. As the liquid enters the hot gas chamber, it is atomized by a carrier gas stream -- once the atomized liquid contacts the hot gas, it instantly changes to vapor. The DLI vaporizer provides:

  • 100% efficiency or complete vaporization
  • Vapor on demand
  • Flexibility with extreme reliability because it can be customized to fit a specific application

Along with these key products, Brooks will also have exhibits and information about its industry-leading portfolio of mass flow controllers, meters, vacuum and pressure meters, as well as information on engineering and applications support programs, and expanding service and repair offerings.

Visitors to Booth 609, or those who attend the VA meter presentation in the Javits Center New Product Theater, will also have an opportunity to be registered to win an Apple® iPad®; Brooks will be giving away one iPad each day, during the show.
