3M Complete Acquisition of Corning Precision Lens

3M have completed their acquisition of Corning Precision Lens Inc. Cincinnati based Corning Precision Lens are the largest producer of lens systems for rear projection televisions in the world.

Corning Precision Lens will be integrated into the 3M Optical Systems Division and operate under the name 3M Precision Optics.

The acquisition fits well with 3M’s existing business and now gives them a complete range of display technologies as well as a strong platform for growth into next generation consumer television applications.
