Exova Warringtonfire, the specialist fire and security testing and certification provider, has made an investment which expands its sprinkler head testing capabilities in Australia.
The investment is in response to anticipated demand for new testing requirements introduced by Australian Standard AS1851-2012, which will now see sprinkler heads tested at 25 years after installation and then every ten years thereafter.
Local drop off points are also available for the transportation of samples to Exova’s laboratory in Dandenong, Victoria, which will perform the release temperature, functional test and leak resistance testing for sprinkler heads.
Peter Downer, Director of Exova Warringtonfire in Australia, commented: “All public buildings require the maintenance of fire protection equipment, including the testing of automatic fire sprinkler systems. There are an increasing number of 25-year-old buildings in Australia requiring sprinkler head testing and we have responded to a significant level of customer demand in the area. We are accredited by NATA for an extensive range of tests, and the laboratory is a Registered Testing Authority in accordance with the National Construction Code, so we are well placed to meet the needs of customers in this sector.”
