More Body Armour Orders for US Army

Following on from Ceradyne’s recent record order for Small Arms Protective Inserts (SAPI), Simula have received another similar order for more SAPI plates. The latest order is valued at over $2.7 million.

The most recent order is scheduled to be completed by July 2003 and is the fourth such order they have received in the past 120 days.

Simular are currently producing approximately 12,000 SAPI plates per month. Orders to date under the current indefinite order programme total about 50,000 plates, with a total value approximately $19.2 million.
