Jacobs Receives BASF Polyols Contract

Jacobs Engineering Group has announced that it has been awarded a contract to provide engineering and procurement services for BASF in Geismar, La. BASF manufactures a wide range of intermediate specialty chemicals at this major site.

Officials stated that the overall program is valued in excess of $100 million.

The project involves design and procurement for Polyol production units. Aspects of the engineering design are being performed by BASF's design office in Ludwigshafen, Germany. Jacobs' scope of work includes modification of the existing units, as well as all procurement activities for the entire effort.

Jacobs will execute professional service hours from its offices in Baton Rouge, La., and value-added engineering center in Mumbai, India.

In making the announcement, Jacobs Group Vice President Pete Evans stated, "We are delighted to receive this contract and continue our long-term relationship with BASF. We are excited about helping BASF develop another world-class facility by applying the right technical expertise and local knowledge to this important project."
