21st Century Material
In the 21st century we find ourselves in a quest for new superior materials to step up to the next level of production technologies.
We want to make cars, drones, aircrafts, and spaceships both more strong and lightweight.
Metal components with properties, complying with emerging challenges, are too heavy.
Plastic elements are light, but not robust enough to be used in critical parts.
COMPOSITES
In the 20th century we though that we have reached the peak of our capabilities until composite materials came into existence.
They are light and strong and exceed the performance of metals in multiple areas. They promised us to open a new “composite” era for the mankind.
But we could not manage on the first try. And it is us, not them, who are to be blamed.
We were handling them in a wrong way, treated them as isotropic materials, making «black alumunium», milling, drilling and cutting the fibers.
Having seen this approach, we, as a team of scientists and engineers have set a goal to change the way composite fabrication works and open up their true potential. From 2014 we have been working on the anisoprinting technology that fully embraces the properties of composite materials. The technology that engulfs all aspects of manufacturing from the geometry blueprint and structure of the part, to selecting the right composite and, finally, to fabricating it on a specially built device.
Only under this complex approach one can receive components with properties superior than those of metals.
ANISOPRINT IS A SOLUTION FOR FABRICATION OF OPTIMIZED NEW GENERATION COMPOSITE MATERIALS
The technology is based on patented co-extrusion method of continuous composite reinforcing fiber with thermoplastic polymer.
Due to tailored fiber placement, good adhesion between the fibers and the polymer, straightness and continuity of the fibers it is possible to achieve high physical and mechanical properties of the manufactured part.
Anisoprint technology does not constrain the component structure and allows you to apply up-to-date optimization methods. It enables fabrication of parts with complex shape and internal structure.
