Introduction
Steels having carbon as the major alloying element are called as carbon steels. They contain up to 1.2% manganese and 0.4% silicon. The residual elements such as copper, molybdenum, aluminium, chromium and nickel are also present in these steels.
The following datasheet will discuss about AISI 1078 carbon steel in detail.
